At this time OLCE is offering very limited opportunities for in-person community service throughout the fall semester. We will be offering a modified version of our Catalyst program and Days of Service. Here are some of the precautions we are taking:

  • All service sites will be in Guilford County, with an emphasis on on-campus, walking distance, and outdoor opportunities.
  • All projects will be 10 people or less indoors and 25 or less outdoors, including student leaders and community partners.
  • All individuals involved will be screened for COVID symptoms before participating.
  • All individuals involved will be required to social distance, wear a face covering, and practice appropriate cleanliness (frequent handwashing, covering coughs and sneezes, etc.).
  • Face coverings, hand sanitizer, and any other necessary safety equipment will be provided to participants.
  • We will take extra precautions and minimize interaction with high-risk community populations, most service projects will be indirect service or direct service that does not involve person-to-person contact.
  • Participant information will be recorded in the event that contact tracing is required.
