Farmer Foodshare Donation Station Internships

Join a team of UNCG interns and volunteers who reduce hunger! The Farmer Foodshare Donation Station at the Greensboro Farmer’s Curb Market is run year round by a dedicated group of UNCG students who connect people who grow food with people who need it through a local farmers market. Here’s how it works: customers donate produce to the Donation Station at the market, and we donate the collected produce to local hunger relief organizations. The farmers make some extra sales and the food gets out to folks who need it – everyone wins! Responsibilities

  1. Manage Donation Station on Saturdays (7:00am-12:30pm) 2x/month (0-6 hrs/week) *Must have transportation and be able to list up to 40 pounds
  2. Recruit and supervise Donation Station volunteers (0-1 hr/week)
  3. Complete a creative project of your choice (e.g. host a kid’s event at a market, design marketing, make a video, etc.) (0-3 hrs/week)

Qualifications

  1. Interest in food insecurity, nutrition, and community food systems
  2. Detail-oriented, dedicated, timely, and responsible
  3. Excellent communication skills, including conversation with strangers
  4. Morning person!
