Hunger + Homelessness Awareness Week

Hunger and Homelessness Awareness Week is an annual program where people come together across the country to draw attention to the problems of hunger and homelessness. At UNCG, the Office of Leadership & Civic Engagement works with campus partners and a student planning committee to plan and host a series of educational, service, fundraising, and advocacy events.

The Office of Intercultural Engagement is hosting the 5th annual House of Privilege at UNCG this Fall! House of Privilege is an experiential event where participants explore the different ways in which privilege is experienced in our society.

Soups for Hoops

Monday, November 15, 7:00-8:00pm, Greensboro Coliseum
Compete to donate the most to Spartan Open Pantry! The group who donates the most items will be recognized at the UNCG vs. Coppin State Men’s Basketball Game and will win the GRAND PRIZE!

Empty Bowls Sale

Tuesday, November 16, 11:00am-4:00pm, EUC Auditorium Lobby
Support Spartans and buy a hand-painted bowl designed by UNCG students! Proceeds from this annual event benefit the Spartan Open Pantry.

Panel: Homelessness in our Community

Wednesday, November 17, 6:00-7:00pm, Virtual
Dr. Stephen Sills, Professor and Director, The Center for Housing and Community Studies, moderates this community-focused panel of professionals who are working to address homelessness in Greensboro. Speakers include representatives from Tiny Houses Greensboro, The Servant Center, NC Housing Coalition, and more!

Land of Plenty Deliberative Dialogue

Thursday, November 18 12:30-1:30pm, Virtual
Join OLCE virtually for a deliberative dialogue as we discuss how a food system can work for everyone and how we can ensure people have the food they need.

Register for Catalyst where you can get off campus to serve and learn about organizations addressing hunger and homelessness in Greensboro! Transportation & food provided. Space is limited.
