Americorps

AmeriCorps is a nationwide public/private partnership which has thousands of members serving across the country. AmeriCorps engages more than 75,000 members in intensive service annually to serve through nonprofit, faith-based, and community organizations at 25,000 locations across the country. Since 1994, more than 900,000 Americans have provided more than 1.2 billion hours of service through AmeriCorps. AmeriCorps Members receive a modest living stipend from the Corporation for National and Community Service and are eligible for an education award upon completion of their service year. PeaceCorps

PeaceCorps Volunteers serve in over 60 countries outside of the United States. PeaceCorps Volunteers leave a legacy in the lives of the community members they reach, educate, and inspire. Some of those young people grow up to be extraordinary leaders, including engineers, doctors, and government officials. Black Child Development Institute AmeriCorps

Their mission is to improve and protect the quality of life of children, youth, and families in the Greater Greensboro community. For 37 years, BCDI has been steadfast in fulfilling their mission by recruiting, screening, training, and mobilizing volunteers serving children in our community; providing them with low-cost one-on-one academic assistance, offering them opportunities for family enrichment, and opening doors for access to community resources. Center for New North Carolinians AmeriCorps ACCESS Project

Habitat For Humanity AmeriCorps

Help strengthen communities through a year of service with Habitat AmeriCorps. This hands-on experience provides you an opportunity to learn and develop new skills and confidence while serving a critical role in helping Habitat homeowners achieve the strength, stability and self-reliance they need to build a better future for themselves and their families. You can get paid to serve on an active build site or assisting homeowner families, volunteers and staff. With Habitat AmeriCorps, you have the opportunity to serve in your community or in one of our locations throughout the United States. NC Campus Compact’s AmeriCorps VISTA- Hunger Corps & AfterSchool Corps

North Carolina Campus Compact’s AmeriCorps VISTA members serve as part of the NC Afterschool Corps or the NC Hunger Corps. Both groups support higher education’s community engagement mission and the VISTA mission of fighting poverty. VISTA members are placed on a campus or community host site to leverage resources and develop programs that serve low-income people. The Servant Center’s Partnership to End Homelessness AmeriCorps Program

The Servant Center’s goal and mission is to end homelessness.  The Partnership to End Homelessness is part of that network and focuses specifically on homelessness and hunger. Members provide essential services such as case management, employment and benefit assistance, housing search and placement, food/grocery distribution, and much more.  Members provide more than 24,000 hours of service each year in Guilford and Forsyth Counties. Their 30+ members are from different backgrounds but have one shared goal — to make a positive difference in the lives of our community!
