Empty Bowls

Twitter post to promote Empty Bowls Sale. Bowls are $5 and all proceeds benefit the Spartan Open Pantry. Stop by EUC Azalea on February 11 from 11am to 2pm. Outdated as of February 12, 2020.

Empty Bowls is an interdepartmental educational program that takes a stand against local hunger. Students, staff, and faculty painted ceramic bowls as one of our activities during Hunger and Homelessness Awareness Week in November of 2019. Once all of those beautiful creations were fired and ready to sell, we held the Empty Bowls Sale on Tuesday, February 11 from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm in EUC Azalea. Bowls were $5 each, and there was a silent auction for some of the more artistic designs!

Thank you to everyone that stopped by to check out our selection! For more information, contact OLCE at lead@uncg.edu.

UNCG’s Hunger & Homelessness Awareness Week (H+HAW) is an annual week of events that takes place the last full week before Thanksgiving, with all events geared to raise awareness of hunger and homelessness on a local and national level. During this week, we usually paint Empty Bowls to sell as a fundraiser for Spartan Open Pantry in the Spring! Click here to learn more about H+HAW.

Thank you to everyone who made our 2020 Empty Bowls sale such a success!
