student at empty bowls

Empty Bowls is an educational program that takes a stand against local food insecurity and hunger. Students, staff, and faculty are invited to paint ceramic bowls while learning more about UNCG food insecurity and the resources UNCG provides! These bowls are then sold in the following semester to raise money for Spartan Open Pantry, a food pantry for UNCG students, faculty, and staff.

The spring 2024 Bowl Painting will be held during Changemaker Week on February 20th from 10am-3pm. We encourage volunteers and painters to sign-up, but we will accept drop-in painters as room permits.
